How Much to Charge

How much to charge: Once you get someone’s attention they might ask you how much you charge for a video or post. This is where most people get freaked out but don’t worry I’ll have you confident about your pricing in no time.

There are industry standards for how much brands pay for videos but I don’t recommend paying any attention to it. If you want 1 Million Dollars to make a video you’re welcome to pitch that but you might not make that many sales.

When people ask my rate I have the ultimate response:

My current rate for a campaign is $X – This includes a Reel posted on my public feed, 3-5 stories after posting, and a feature in my weekly newsletter. Sometimes I will offer to do a live about it.

This is called Value Stacking. Where most creators will blurt out a price for a video, I have added way more value right out of the gate.

This can go one of two ways:

  1. They say yes. (This might make me think my pricing is too low)
  2. They say we only have X in the budget for it.

In the case on #1 – Congrats. Pass Go and Collect $200.

In the case of #2 this is where the negotiating comes in.

If the price is lower than what we want, we can remove some of the value adds and decide if we want to create a video for that amount. You have to factor in how long it will take you to make the video and match it with your overall self worth.
